Rahul Gandhi in his open letter accused the government, blamed them for the increase in the Covid cases in the country, and said there is no clarity in the vaccination drive.
Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his letter said to PM Modi to vaccinate every citizen of the nation. He also urged the PM 'to do everything possible to stop the needless suffering of people'.
He also pointed several reasons due to which the country is reporting more and more cases every day.

He also mentioned the various factors like size and genetic diversity which makes India fertile for the virus to transform. He wrote, "The pandemic has demonstrated that India's size, genetic diversity, and complexity make India fertile ground for the virus to rapidly mutate, transforming itself into a more contagious and dangerous form."
He blamed the government's weak vaccination strategy and held it responsible for the spread of the virus. He wrote, "Your government's lack and coherent Covid and vaccination strategy, as well as its hubris in declaring premature victory as the virus was exponentially spreading, has placed India in the highly dangerous position."
Later, he said that "GOI's failures making another lockdown almost inevitable" and asked the government to "prepare people for the possibility of imposing restrictions."

Four points that Rahul Gandhi highlighted as 'urgent to be addressed':
1. Scientifically tackling the virus and its mutation across the country using genome sequencing and disease patterns.
2. Dynamically assessing the efficacy of all vaccines against new mutations.
3. Speeding up the vaccination process.
4. Being transparent and keeping people informed.

Further his letter read, "The human cost of allowing this virus to continue its march unimpeded will cause more consequences than any purely economic calculations."
Through his letter, he assured that Congress is in support of the 'fight against the ferocious pandemic.'
This letter came when the country is struggling with the second wave of coronavirus and reporting more than 4 lakh cases per day. And India is witnessing a severe shortage of beds, vaccines, medical aids, medical oxygen.
