“You’re powerful mother,” Class 10 boy wrote an emotional letter before committing suicide

A Class 10 student from Delhi Public School in Greater Faridabad had died by suicide on Thursday, 24 February. His mother claimed that the boy was being harassed at his school over his sexuality.

In his suicide note, he also claimed that around eight students have also bullied him. The names of the students were also mentioned in his note.

According to reports, these students used to call him ‘gay’ and stripped him in the school bathroom. His mother who was also a teacher in the same school has accused the school authorities for troubling her son.

“You’re powerful (mother), don’t care what people say about my sexuality, kindly handle relative, Grand father… The school has killed me. Higher authority is also responsible,” the student wrote in his suicide note.

An FIR had been registered under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the school administration.

The boy was dyslexic and was undergoing therapy due to distress. “Her mother told us that he was suffering from dyslexia due to which he was unable to solve a few questions. It was the reason he wanted to take help. But his teacher scolded him which led to more mental trauma,” the police had said.


On Thursday night the boy jumped off his house when his parents were not at home. He was rushed to the nearest hospital and was declared dead.

As per reports, the boy used to study at Delhi Public School (DPS) Faridabad in Class 10. The Police officials are investigating the matter.

In a latest development in the suicide case of a Class 10 student of Delhi Public School, Greater Faridabad, the police on Sunday said that they have arrested the academic head of the school identified as Mamta.
