In a bizarre development, two youths sleeping at their friend's home were shot dead on Saturday morning in Jalandhar, Punjab. According to the information received, these youths were sleeping at a friend's house when an accused came and fired at them. Since then, the accused has been absconding. The police of Rama Mandi police station have reached the spot for investigation. The FSL team has also come to the spot and is collecting evidence related to the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Shiv (24), a resident of Mota Singh Nagar, and Vinay Tiwari (22), a resident of Basti Sheikh. Police have said that these youths were shot by Manna, a youth from Mitthapur. The matter is still being investigated. About 7 to 8 bullets have been fired at the crime scene. Both have been killed with the same weapon. Police have recovered some bullet shells from the crime scene.
The incident took place near Lamba Pind Chowk in Jalandhar. Police have revealed that both the deceased youths were wanted in a case registered in Police Station Division Number-6. A team of Jalandhar CIA staff along with Rama Mandi police station has also reached the spot for investigation. In the investigation so far, the case seems to be of old rivalry. Different teams are conducting raids in search of the accused Manna.
S. Nirmal Singh, PPS, informed the media that the incident occurred on Saturday morning. The incident reportedly took place among three friends following a late-night altercation. One of the individuals allegedly opened fire, killing one person on the spot while the second victim succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at a hospital. An FIR has been registered against the accused and an investigation is currently underway.
As per reports, the accused Manna who shot the bullets was also a friend of the deceased. Some time ago, the three along with their other companions had committed the crime in Mota Singh Nagar. When the police registered a case, all three accused absconded. The police were looking for them.
According to the police, there was an argument and fight between the three wanted youths on Friday night over something. All three were sleeping at the same place. Meanwhile, Manna shot both of them dead while they were sleeping at midnight.
