The Punjab Government provides free electricity in the state. This decision of the government has given a huge benefit to the public. Now, the public will get free electricity. This free electricity scheme has given relief to the poor families in the state as now they will not pay any electricity bill and will be able to spend the saved money on their other important needs. After this free electricity scheme implementation, Punjab has become the first state in the country where 90 percent of the domestic electricity consumers get ‘Zero’ electricity bills.
Previously, the money spent by these poor families on the electricity bill, now is used in their other needs. They are spending the saved money in their families’ other necessary needs. Due to the effort made by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, 90 percent of the domestic electricity consumers are getting the facility of free electricity in the state.
The residents of Kurali have praised this step taken by the Punjab Government. They have appreciated the government and have said that the Punjab government has done a great job by making the electricity free for the public. This scheme of free electricity is very effective for the poor families. These families have got a lot of relief because of this scheme launched by the Punjab government.
The residents of Kurali have said that the government of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann should always be there in the state so that the poor people get their rights. The savings of the electricity bills are now spent in the education of their children.
The Punjab government led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, has set an example by making advance payment of subsidy to the Powercam. At the end of the financial year 2022-23, the Punjab government has paid a subsidy of Rs 20, 200 crores to the Powercam. The government paid Rs 1,804 crores in the first instalment and Rs 9,020 crore in the second instalment. This payment cleared the outstanding dues from the time of the previous governments.
Apart from this, the government paid Rs 9,063. 79 crores for the free electricity supply to the farmers’ motors, Rs 8,225 crores for the domestic electricity consumers and Rs 2,910 crores for the industrial sector subsidy.
