Below is all you need to know about Ziddi Girls' real-life Matilda House.

Is Matilda House College shown in Ziddi Girls a real-life college?

The answer is yes. Ziddi Girls's story is fictional, but the series has been shot in a real-life college famous by the name of Miranda House of Delhi University. In fact, legal action has also been initiated against the makers of Ziddi Girls for portraying Miranda House of Delhi University in an objectionable light.

In Ziddi Girls' trailer, a voiceover can be heard saying, "Aaj MH mein padhai nahi, p*rn chalta hai." IT prompted an outcry from the Miranda House administration, students, and alumni, who condemned it as a 'defamatory and inaccurate representation' of the institution.

TOI reported that the college authorities have filed a police complaint and sent a legal notice to the makers of the web series.

The Prime Video fictional series is set in a Delhi college, Matilda House, and is referred to as MH, the very acronym often used for Miranda House, a premier institution for women students. The show revolves around the lives of five students in search of their identities.

The initial trailer's portrayal of the college sparked outrage, leading the makers to release a second trailer with a disclaimer stating, “This series is a work of fiction. It’s based on a fictional institution and characters. It’s not intended to defame any person, organisation, or educational institution. Viewer’s discretion is advised."

Interestingly, Ziddi Girls director Shonali Bose is an alumnus of Miranda House (MH). While the series Ziddi Girls was shot in Miranda House, Principal Bijayalakshmi Nanda said that she felt betrayed by the makers for misrepresenting the institution.
