Recently, the Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has shared a video working as a food delivery agent for a day along with this wife Grecia Munoz. He shared a video on Instagram sharing that he was asked to use the stairs and not allowed to enter a Gurugram mall for delivering the food.
He shared a video on X and wrote, “During my second order, I realised that we need to work with malls more closely to improve working conditions for all delivery partners. And malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners. What do you think?”
One of the users praised the CEO and commented, “CEO on the ground, a connected culture trend among delivery partners and experiencing the problems by self is great move.”
In the video he wrote, “We reached Ambience Mall in Gurgaon to pick up the order from Haldiram's. I was told to take the other entrance and realised that they are asking me to take the stairs.”
After reaching the 3rd floor, he got to know that he cannot enter the mall. He wrote, “Took the stairs to the third floor to realise that we can't enter the mall and have to wait at the stairs to receive the orders.”
In the video, there is a glimpse of Zomato CEO sitting on the floor with other delivery boys. He wrote, “Chilled with my fellow delivery partners while also getting valuable feedback from them.”
The mall has responded after noticing CEO Deepinder Goyal’s post. Zomato CEO has given an update on X and wrote, “Ambience Mall has already responded to the situation, and created a comfortable online food delivery pick up point for all delivery partners. Thanks Arjun (owner of Ambience) for noticing my post and taking quick action. He’s also agreed to let us deploy some “walkers” inside the mall to quickly shuttle the food from the restaurant to these pickup points to hand over the food to delivery partners.”
“I urge all the other mall owners to please do the same, or come up with other innovative solutions which can help our collective customers, our delivery partners, restaurants, delivery aggregators, as well as malls themselves,” he further added.
