The wait is finally over. On December 24, Filmmaker
Kabir Khan's much-awaited cricket drama '83', starring Ranveer Singh, is
set to arrive in theatres. The deadly combination of Cricket and Bollywood will
be a treat for its fans.
The film revolves around how Team India created history by
winning the World Cup for the first time in 1983 under the captainship of Kapil
Dev. Ranveer essays the role of Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev while Deepika
will be seen playing the role of his wife, Romi Dev. The film also features
Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu,
and Ammy Virk.
Kabir Khan focused on every player and made them stand out by
giving a power-packed performance. The epic journey of the Indian cricket team from
underdogs to true winners will surely give you goosebumps. The untold stories
of players during the World Cup are portrayed on-screen with utmost perfection. The
film will make you forget that you are sitting in theatres, rather, will give a stadium vibe to its audience.
The joys, sorrows, humour, victory, defeat, personal
experiences and much more are amazingly captured and delivered. From the first
scene, it’s clear that no one believed Team India will win 83 World Cup. Their
struggles to lift the cup will leave the audience with teary eyes.
If you are paying to watch the film, you will not regret
spending on it as it is a total ‘Paisa Vasool.’ Deepika Padukone as Kapil Dev’s
wife is shown as a complete support system. Pankaj Tripathi’s charm also added
grace to his character. From cinematography to its music, the film is
exceptionally planned well for its audiences.
Bollywood actor, Suniel Shetty shared on Twitter, “Went to
watch @RanveerOfficial in #83. Couldn’t spot him. There was only #KapilDev on
screen. Incredible transformation. I am stunned beyond. A team cast that
could’ve walked off Lords. Got gooseflesh like I was reliving ‘83. Still shaken
& teary-eyed at the artistry & emotions.”
Sheer belief. That’s what it is. The goodness of being @kabirkhankk
The faith in his story & the power of his scenes & characters. Blew my
socks off. And the backing of #SajidNadiadwala @WardaNadiadwala in a project that’s a personal
tale. The tears are real.”
