After the Aam Aadmi Party has come to power, various decisions have been taken by the government regarding the transfers of government officers. In a recent development, it has come to light that Party Conveyer Arvind Kejriwal is planning to give a big position to Delhi’s Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar in Punjab instead of appointing him as state election commissioner in Delhi.
According to sources, Vijay Kumar Dev if given a chance will be appointed as Chief Principal Secretary to CM or as an Advisor in the Punjab government. If this happens so, the entire control of Punjab will ultimately remain in the hands of Party leader Arvind Kejriwal. Moreover, under the leadership of Vijay Kumar, it will be easier for AAP to implement all the strategies in Punjab as it was implemented in Delhi.
Dev is a 1987 batch IAS officer from the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre. He had assumed charge as Delhi’s chief secretary in 2018, replacing Anshu Prakash. Since that time, he has been closely associated with Arvind Kejriwal. Now, he is taking voluntary retirement from the post of Delhi’s Chief Secretary.
