Airports and airlines have completed their preparations for operating regular international flights after two years.
Apart from Indian airlines, foreign airlines like Emirates and Virgin Atlantic are also very excited about the resumption of regular flights.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the capital Delhi expects regular international flights to pick up significantly from the first week of April.
The aviation industry, which has been badly affected by the epidemic, is slowly getting back on track and with the start of regular international flights, there is a possibility of new life in it.
In an order issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, it has been said that the Scheduled Foreign Carriers have applied for the approval of their international program.
Countries to Flight fly
Summer Schedule 2022 is effective from 27 March 2022 to 29 October this year.
A total of 60 foreign airlines from 40 countries including Mauritius, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, USA, Iraq and others have been approved to operate 1783 frequency to India during Summer Schedule 2022.
The operation of international flights in India has been stopped since 23 March 2020. With the arrival of the first wave of the COVID-19 epidemic, this was put on hold and over time that restriction kept increasing.
But now the time has come for this ban to end. International flights will start regularly from India from Sunday.
Although international flights have been operating even during the Corona period under a bio-bubble arrangement with some countries, it has been a limited arrangement.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation had announced on March 8 that regular international flights would start from March 27, 2022. Along with this, the provisions related to COVID19 prevention have also been modified.
Willie Boulter, a chief commercial officer of the country's largest airline IndiGo, said in a statement on Saturday that IndiGo is keen to take international operations to pre-Covid levels.
But it will also depend on arrival rules from other countries. DIAL, which operates the country's largest airport IGIA, has expressed hope that more than 60 international flights will start operating from here.
