In the Jahangirpuri violence case, 14 people are now being detained and interrogated. So far a total of 7 people have been injured in Jahangirpuri stone-pelting and sabotage. 

Of which 6 are policemen and one common citizen. Others have suffered minor injuries. The police have registered a case under serious sections like rioting, attempt to murder and Arms Act.

The mention of the person named Ansar arrested in the FIR

The arrested person named Ansar has been mentioned in the FIR. According to the FIR, Ansar had come with 4-5 companions. The accused Ansar argued with the people involved in the procession. Ansar has been involved in many criminal incidents.

Some people have been identified from CCTV and viral videos, and efforts are on to arrest them. The investigation report of the case will also be submitted to the MHA. 

A case has been registered under sections including rioting, obstructing government work, and causing damage to properties. There was a big nuisance last evening in Jahangirpuri, North West area of ​​Delhi. 


Violence erupted after stone pelting on the Hanuman Jayanti procession in which many shops were looted, and vehicles parked on the roadside were set ablaze. A sub-inspector of Delhi Police was shot and injured. 

With great difficulty, the police brought the situation under control. A large number of police forces are deployed in the area, investigation is going on.

How riots broke out in Delhi on Hanuman Jayanti?

There are two parts to this event. One before the riots and the other after the incident. We can inform you what happened last evening in Jahangirpuri.

A Shobha Yatra was taken out on Hanuman Jayanti in Jahangirpuri, Delhi. The people involved in the Shobha Yatra were marching ahead with songs and slogans. 

A large number of people were also walking on bikes during the Shobha Yatra. When the procession started passing near a mosque, suddenly there was a sound of firing and a stampede broke out.

As the commotion escalated, hundreds of people gathered from the other side. Religious sloganeering started. Some people in caps were seen waving swords and shouting religious slogans. 

The pictures showed that the policemen and elders of the community were trying to extinguish the crowd, but then stone pelting started.

Tension increased due to nuisance started on the streets

The process of stone-pelting intensified, stone pelting started from both sides. Sometimes people were seen running on the road on one side, and sometimes the train used to run from the road on the other side. 

Soon the arson started. The nuisance that started from the main road started reaching the surrounding streets, and then a large number of police forces reached the spot in a hurry. The miscreants fled but the situation remained tense.

Within about an hour, top officers of the Delhi Police had reached the spot and the situation was under control. Special CP of Delhi Police Deependra Pathak said that 'Law order is maintained, there is police, we are talking, stay calm, avoid rumours'.

The situation was brought under control after the presence of the police on the spot, but a police sub-inspector was shot in the riot. Sub Inspector Medha Lal was lying on the hospital bed in an injured condition. The bullet had gone through in his hand.

Thankfully, all those injured in the riot were out of danger, but the incident of attack on policemen in the riots happened in the same way as the police were attacked in the Delhi riots of 2020. 

After the incident, Delhi Police started the investigation by registering a case for rioting and an attempt to murder. But till late at night, no one could be arrested. Special CP of Delhi Police said that the investigation is going on on the question of mischief or conspiracy.

When and what happened in the horrifying conspiracy?

From the initial police investigation and the statements of the people present on the spot, it was found that the procession took place around 4.30 pm. This procession had to go till K-BLOCK. 

The Shobha Yatra was passing near the mosque at around 5:10 pm when there was a slight dispute. Then at around 5.30, there was a dispute again near the mosque and stone pelting started. 

The police got a call at around 6.20 pm. Medha Lal reached the spot. By 7 o'clock the police were on the spot and by 8 o'clock the situation was brought under control.

After this, the police guarded the Jahangirpuri area throughout the night. There were all kinds of deployments from riot control vans on the spot. The police were in alert mode throughout the night and even now a large number of police forces have been deployed in the area. After the violence, an alert has been issued in Uttar Pradesh.

After the violence in Jahangirpuri, security has increased outside JNU as well. Additional personnel of Delhi Police have been deployed in the security of JNU. 10 teams engaged in the investigation of the Delhi Police Crime Branch Special Cell conspiracy were formed.
