The results from Punjab’s
Jalandhar constituency have been declared for the 9 assembly seats. Aam Aadmi Party emerges as the single largest party in
Punjab by winning 94 seats out of 117 seats. This is the first time in Punjab’s
history that a party won single-handedly after 25 years. The Aam Aadmi
Party’s (AAP’s) chief ministerial candidate has created a buzz in the state
with the slogan ‘Ik mauka Bhagwant Mann te Kejriwal nu’.
In the Jalandhar
constituency, there are 9 seats. These seats are Phillaur, Nakodar, Shahkot,
Kartarpur, Jalandhar West, Jalandhar Central, Jalandhar North, Jalandhar Cantt.
and Adampur. There is tough competition in the Jalandhar constituency and have
a neck-to-neck competition. The parties defeated their competitors with a very
small margin.

There were
8 candidates contesting from the Jalandhar Central seat. Raman Arora of Aam
Aadmi Party defeated Rajinder Beri of Congress by 163 votes.

Cantt:

Candidates were contesting from the Jalandhar Cantt seat where Pargat Singh of
Congress has won the seat by giving a tough competition to Surinder Singh Sodhi
of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Jalandhar
West:
Contesting
with 11 candidates Sheetal Angural of the Aam Aadmi Party has won the seat. She
defeated Sushil Rinku of INC by 1210 votes.
Jalandhar
North:
10
candidates were contesting from the Jalandhar North seat. Avtar Singh Junior
also known as Baba Henry from Congress Party has won the seat.
Shahkot:
A total of 11 were contesting from the Shahkot seat.
Hardev Singh Laddi of Congress won the seat of Shahkot. He defeated Bachitar Singh Kohar with a huge
margin.
Nakodar:
A total of 11 candidates contested from the Nakodar seat.
In the race, Inderjeet Kaur Mann won the seat. She defeated Gurpartap Singh
Wadala by a very close difference.
Phillaur:
Total of 14 candidates contested from the Phillaur seat.
Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary of Congress Party has won the Phillaur seat.
Katarpur:
Total of 8 candidates contested from Kartarpur. Balkar
Singh of the Aam Aadmi Party has won the seat by giving a tough competition to
Chaudhary Surinder Singh of Congress Party.
Adampur:
A total of 10 candidates contested from Adampur seat.
Sukhwinder Singh Kotli of Congress Party has won the Adampur seat by defeating
Pawan Kumar Tinu of Shiromani Akali Dal.
