It was only a week ago that her majesty the Queen Elizabeth II lost his husband Prince Philip, but the Queen did not stop from performing her duties. As per the reports, the Queen was back to perform her royal duties on Tuesday. She performed her first royal engagement after the sad demise of Prince Philip. It was retirement ceremony held by the monarch in the honor of Earl Peel at the Windsor Castle. A week before Prince Philip’s death Earl peel recently stepped down as Lord Chamberlain according to the court circular. The crown graced the occasion and felicitated Earl Peel with the Royal Victorian chain honor. The chain award is only given to highest dignitaries, heads of state and foreign monarchs.

The court circular statement read out BBC says, “the Earl Peel had an audience of the queen today, delivered up his wand and insignia of office as Lord Chamberlain and the Badge of Chancellor of the Royal Victorian Order and took leave upon relinquishing his appointment as Lord Chamberlain, when her majesty the queen invested him with the Royal Victorian Chain”.
On the other side, Prince Philip’s funeral preparations are underway which will be held on Saturday, April 17. The funeral is planned to be broadcasted for the audience but will be a low key affair. Few of the close members of the royal family will attend the funeral ceremony including Prince Charles, Prince William family and Prince Harry who came for the funeral to UK.
Prince Philip died on April 9, 2021 at Windsor Castle peacefully.
