Amidst raising fingers and questions on the intelligence failures and law & order, the Punjab government has appointed counter-intelligence expert DGP Gaurav Yadav as officiating DGP. He was earlier posted as Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Reportedly, state DGP VK Bhawra has gone on a two-months leave after seeking central deputation. VK Bhawra was under immense pressure and questions were raised especially after the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Apart from the DGP, the Bhagwant Mann government has also transferred the Special DGP Intelligence Prabodh Kumar and appointed Jatinder Aulakh IPS (1997) to look after the work of ADGP Intelligence Punjab. Apart from the law & order, questions were also raised over the intelligence following the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. Not only this but there was also a rocket attack that took place at the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters which was said to be a rocket attack.
