Sidhu’s Power show in Punjab before Congress State Chief changes; attempt to put pressure on high command

Navjot Singh Sidhu started showing off his power to the high command of the Congress Party before changing the Party State head. He met his supporters in Kapurthala. The closed room meeting took place at the house of Navtej Cheema. 

Recently a special meeting of Congress high command was held in Delhi where the discussion regarding the state heads change took place. After losing in all the five states in the Assembly Elections 2022, Congress President Sonia Gandhi demanded resignations from the state heads. Navjot Singh Sidhu the PPCC Chief had already submitted his resignation. He also shared the picture of his resignation on his Twitter. 

In today’s meeting held in Kapurthala Congress MLAs Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Balwinder Dhaliwal, Sidhu's close friends Ashwani Sekhri, Rakesh Pandey, Rupinder Ruby, Najar Singh Manshahia, and other Congress supporters were present. 

Sharing a picture from today’s meeting Sidhu wrote, “We will fight for the rights of Punjab with good intentions and sincerity. #JittegaPunjab.”

Navjot Singh Sidhu is trying to put pressure on Congress High Command. Regarding the defeat of the Congress Party in Punjab, Sidhu refused to take responsibility. He said that the election was fought under the leadership of Charanjit Singh Channi so he is not accountable for it.

The Congress Party is the highest in getting 18 seats in Punjab after AAP has 92 seats out of 117. Congress lost in all the five states in the elections; Goa, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. One of the reasons for Congress's defeat in Punjab can be the internal dispute in the leaders of the party. 

After getting defeated in Punjab, the party is divided into factions. There is a separate faction of Sukhjinder Randhawa, Tript Rajinder Bajwa and Sukhbinder Singh Sukh Sarkaria, known as Majha Express, in the Congress.
