Kentucky's Danielle Mullins was proclaimed Miss Earth USA 2023 at the culmination of the national pageant held on Saturday, January 7
The 25-year-old professional stylist and makeup artist based in Louisville received her crown and sash from her predecessor Brielle Simmons of Connecticut.
Mullins was crowned at this year's pageant in Orlando, Florida.
Known as Beauties for a Cause, Miss Earth empowers women through community leadership and environmental education.
Mullins will travel to Vietnam to compete for the international title later this year.
The 2023 event was held in Orlando from Jan. 1 to 8.
There were 51 Miss Earth USA and 70 Teen Miss Earth USA delegates from across the country.
Another Kentuckian was named Teen Miss Earth USA: 15-year-old Tayan Stansfield, of Shelby County.
Her school, Martha Layne Collins High School in Shelbyville, tweeted its congrats.
