By True Scoop

Peru in the past few weeks has been rocked by one of its worst political crises in decades recently.

Thousands have gathered in the capital city of Lima to demonstrate against the rising inflation and a complete call for the removal of their President Dina Boluarte.

Peru’s security forces estimated the number of protestors to be somewhere around 3,500, however, it is believed that the exact number is double of it.

The protest observed deadlock between security forces and Peruvians have claimed 45 lives so far and several grievously injured.

The protests have been sparked by the dramatic ouster of former leftist President Pedro Castillo after he tried to illegally shut down Congress and consolidate power.

Besides, demanding the resignation of their President, Peruvians are demanding to snap elections and calls for a new constitution to replace the market-friendly one dating back to Alberto Fujimori’s regime.

In nearly about 18 regions of a total of 25 in the country, roadways are blocked.

There is no sign of the situation returning to normalcy so far as the protest is gradually spiralling out from Lima to other parts of the country.
