As a result, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah hired a charter flight to fly the world champions back home.
In a special gesture, Jay Shah also allowed the Indian media team & a few hardcore fans to board the same charter flight.
As soon as Team India landed at New Delhi Airport, the world champions got a resounding welcome.

Rohit Sharma also cut a celebratory cake at Delhi Aiport.
Thereafter, the team went to ITC Maurya to change clothes and rest for some time.
