Nayanthara’s Netflix documentary evokes controversy both before and after its release. The documentary named Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale is based on the life of Nayanthara. The documentary features the love story and grand wedding ceremony of Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan. The documentary also highlights her career from early roles to the recent success of Jawan, in which the actress has worked alongside superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and also provides an in-depth look into her life. As the documentary features many clips from her different movies, these clips have become a major problem for Nayanthara.

Actor Dhanush has accused Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan of using the clips from the movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which was released in 2014, without obtaining permission. The situation became worse when Nayanthara responded to this accusation by responding with a three-page statement. She claimed that Dhanush is holding a personal grudge against her and her husband. Last year Dhanush accused Nayanthara and her husband of using a 3-second clip in the documentary. Dhanush had demanded an amount of Rs. 10 crore for using this BTS clip without permission.

Two months after this, Nayanthara has now received a legal notice this time from the makers of Chandramukhi. According to Gulte, the makers of the Chandramukhi movie have demanded a huge amount of Rs. 5 Crore for using a clip of seconds from the movie with permission. However, the makers of the movie have clarified that they have signed the No Objection certificate and have given permission to use the footage in the documentary. Manobala Vijayabalan Tamil film industry tracker took to his social media account and shared the NOC issued by Sivaji Productions.

Previously, Nayanthara has released a list of people whom she thanked for supporting her and signing the No Objection certificate. The list includes the names of Chandramukhi film producers Ramkumar Ganesan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Chiranjeevi.
