Below is all you need to know about Amaran Real Story-
Who was Major Mukund "Maddy" Varadarajan?
Major Mukund Varadarajan was an Indian Army Officer and a recipient of the Ashoka Chakra. Major Mukund gave his ultimate sacrifice while serving his country for the 44th Rashtriya Rifles, a unit of the Indian Army. Born on 12 April 1983 to a Tamil-speaking family, Mukund Varadarajan was a native of Paruthipattu Village, Avadi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. As shown in the movie, Major Mukund was heading a special unit CAT of 44 Rashtriya Rifle that neutralised notorious terrorists like Altaf Baba and Asif Wani. However, during the operation to neutralise Asif Wani, he sacrificed is life for the nation.
Due to his ultimate sacrifice, Major Mukund's wife received Ashok Chakra in 2014 from the Government of India on the occasion of Republic Day.
Who was Asif Wani?
The makers of the movie have deliberately changed a few names in the movie. Many fans are wondering that Asif Wani's character is inspired by character Burhan Wani. As a result, True Scoop tried to dig deep into it. For those who are unaware, Burhan Wani was the poster boy of Hizbul Mujahideen, a terrorist organization. On July 8, 2016, a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Rashtriya Rifles killed Burhan Wani and two other militants in an anti-insurgency operation in Bumdoora village, Kokernag, Kashmir.
Hence, it is confirmed that the Rashtriya Rifle team neutralised Burhan Wani. Since the makers have made a movie on Major Mukund who was actually with the RR, therefore, it can be said that Atif Wani's character might be inspired by real-life Burhan Wani. However, it is worth mentioning that Major Mukund was martyred in 2014, while Burhan was neutralised in 2016.
