On June 1, the voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will be concluding in the seventh phase, and on June 4, India will get its new Prime Minister. Votings for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Punjab will take place on June 1. Therefore, political leaders and independent candidates are busy filing their nominations and even withdrawing them due to personal reasons. Talking about Punjab, the Lok Sabha seat of Khadoor Sahib has attracted the nation's attention as pro-Khalistan leader & Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh has filed his nominations from there as an independent candidate. Amritpal Singh is currently lodged in Dibrugarh Jail in Assam under NSA charges, however, he has filed his nomination from Khadoor Sahib to fight Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Interestingly, Amritpal Singh recently withdrew his nominations to fight Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from Khadoor Sahib. Yes! you heard it right. Election Commission of India (ECI) app Know Your Candidate confirmed that Amritpal Singh withdrew his nomination. However, the Amritpal Singh who withdrew his nomination is not the one lodged in Dibrugarh Jail. Meaning, Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh has not withdrawn his nomination. But, another Amritpal Singh who had filed his nomination to fight the General Elections 2024 has withdrawn his name.
As per KYC app of ECI, Amritpal Singh who has withdrawn his nomination is 47-year-old and he hails from Dina Village of Moga, Punjab. Like the Waris Punjab De Chief, he had also filed his nomination from Khadoor Sahib as independent candidate. But, he will no longer fight the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Talking about Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh, he recently declared his assets and liabilities in his affidavit in his nomination papers. Amritpal Singh's nomination papers were filed by his uncle in Tarn Taran district. Singh filled in his nomination papers on Thursday in Dibrugarh jail in Assam. According to his poll affidavit, Singh has Rs 1,000 bank balance in the SBI branch, Rayya, Baba Bakala in Amritsar. Other than this, Singh does not have any moveable or immovable assets, according to his affidavit.
His wife Kirandip Kaur owns movable assets worth Rs 18.37 lakh. It comprises Rs 20,000 cash in hand, gold jewellery worth Rs 14 lakh and 4,000 GBP (pound) equivalent to Rs 4,17,440, in account at Revolut Ltd, London, UK.
