In a major development in Amritsar-Delhi Bullet Train project, the central government will acquire land from about 321 villages in Punjab and Haryana. Now the survey has started on a war footing. Survey work for this high-speed rail line is going on at a war footing in both the states. The bullet train will complete the 465 km journey from Delhi to Amritsar in just 2 hours.
Between Delhi and Amritsar, this train will stop at 15 stations including Chandigarh. The maximum speed of this bullet train is 350 km per hour. Its running speed will be 320 km per hour and average speed will be 250 km per hour. Also, about 750 passengers will be able to travel in the said train at a time. Land will be acquired from a total of 343 villages in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
Land will be acquired in these districts of Punjab for bullet train project
As per Dainik Bhasker report, the central government will acquire land from a total of 186 villages in Punjab. It includes 39 villages of Mohali, 49 of Jalandhar, 37 of Ludhiana, 22 of Amritsar, 25 of Fatehgarh Sahib, 12 of Kapurthala and one each of Tarn Taran and Rupnagar district.
IIMR agency is holding a series of meetings with the farmers of the villages falling under the purview of the new railway line. Farmers will be given five times more money than the collector rate of each village for the land. In this regard, the central and railway officials are conducting a large scale survey.
When will the Amritsar-Delhi Bullet Train project complete?
The Amritsar-Delhi bullet train prject is in nescant stage. Hence, as of now there is no exact timeline can be determined. However, reports suggest that India's first bullet train, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, is expected to begin operations in 2026. Therefore, Amritsar-Delhi Bullet Train Project may go under construction phase after 2026. It's completion may take years as well.
