With the onset of winter, the focus has now shifted to minimum temperature from worsening AQI. While the Air Quality Index remains debatable, the onset of winter has provided some respite from Air Pollution. Keeping the AQI aside, the people of Punjab will shiver more in the upcoming days.
While the IMD Chandigarh has predicted no rain from 30th November to 6th December 2024, the winter is mostly likely to intensify in the region. IMD in its official release on November 29 confirmed that the lowest minimum temperature of 6.0°C was reported at Adampur IAF (Punjab) over the plains of the country. Hence, Punjab winters are in focus yet again.
IMD Forecast for Punjab Winter
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be no rain in the next 6 to 7 days. However, the mercury in the region is likely to dip more. IMD Chandigarh has predicted dry weather in Punjab from November 30 to December 6, 2024.
However, the Apple Weather app has forecasted that the minimum temperature in multiple cities of Punjab will dip more. Apple Weather predicts that Jalandhar's minimum temperature will drop to 9 degrees on Sunday and Monday, then rise to 11 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, then 9 degrees on Wednesday. However, from Thursday, winters will intensify in Jalandhar minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius from Thursday to Sunday.
