The counting for the Assembly Election 2023 started at the polling booth on Sunday, December 3, 2023. India's 5 states underwent election- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram. The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that the results of Assembly Election 2023 of four states will be declared on December 3, while of Mizoram on December 4. As per the early trends, the Congress Party is leading in Telangana with the 'ruling' BRS trailing. On the other hand, BJP and Congress are having a tough fight in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, the BJP party is leading in Rajasthan.
Coming to numbers, in Chhattisgarh, the BJP is leading on 19 seats, while the Congress is leading on 18 seats. In Madhya Pradesh, BJP is leading on 54 seats and the Congress is closely trailing on 51. In Telangana, Congress is leading at 35 seats, while the BRS is leading at 28 seats.
The Assembly Election 2023 results are considered to be the semi-final ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election.
