Bollywood actress & Mandi MP from the BJP, Kangana Ranaut on Monday sought Police help after she received a death threat from a group of influencers ahead of her movie release Emergency. Kangana Ranaut took to her X handle and shared a video in which a person cautioned the actress over the portrayal of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale as a terrorist in her upcoming movie Emergency. Later, the person who issued threats to Kangana was identified as WWE-fame Vicky Thomas aka Vicky Thomas Singh. Apart from WWE-fame Vicky Thomas aka Vicky Thomas Singh, actor & controversial influencer Aijaz Khan was also present in the video.
Kangana on her X handle wrote, "Please look in to this @DGPMaharashtra @himachalpolice @PunjabPoliceInd"
In the video, a Marathi Sikh man says, "Your movie will be received with chappals." Then the camera pans to Vicky Thomas Singh who says, "If in the movie he (Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale) is portrayed as a terrorist, remember what happened to the person (Indira Gandhi) whose movie you are doing." Thomas also talked about Indira Gandhi's assassination and cautioned that the actress may face the same fate. "Who were Satwant Singh and Beant Singh? We will offer our heads to but those who can offer heads can also chop off them off.." said Vicky Thomas.
Notably, before this, a Sikh Organization staged a protest against the release of Kangana Ranaut's upcoming movie Emergency in Jalandhar's MBD Mall and demanded to ban it in Punjab. Before the protest, Faridkot MP Sarbjit Singh Khalsa objected to the scenes shown in the trailer. As per reports, Sarabjit has said that Sikhs have been portrayed in a wrong way in it. "There are reports of misrepresentation of Sikhs in the new film 'Emergency', due to which there is a possibility of deteriorating peace and law and order situation in the society. If Sikhs are shown as separatists or terrorists in this film, then it is a deep conspiracy," said Faridkot MP Sarabjit Singh Khalsa adding that this film is a psychological attack, to which the government should pay attention in advance and stop inciting hatred towards Sikhs in other countries.'
For the unversed, Sarbjit Singh Khalsa is the son of Beant Singh. Beant Singh was involved in the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. A few parts of Emergency's trailer showcase the militancy period in Punjab and the rise in demand for Khalistan. MP Sarbjit Khalsa has said that news of hate crimes against Sikhs in the country often comes to the fore. In such a situation, this film will work to spread more hatred towards Sikhs. Sikhs have made huge sacrifices for this country, which have not been fully revealed through films, but every possible effort is being made to defame Sikhs.
