Punjab Police have arrested the mother and sister of gangster Happy Panchi in connection with the recent bomb scare outside the Ajnala Police Station. On Wednesday, the accused were presented in the Ajnala Court, which granted the police a five-day remand for further investigation.
The accused, identified as Bhupinder Kaur and Kirandeep Kaur, were apprehended late Tuesday night from their village. Sources reveal that the arrests were made after crucial evidence linked them to the case. Their mobile phones have been sent for forensic examination in order to gather more information about their involvement in the bomb scare case.
The CCTV footage shows two individuals on a motorcycle placing a bomb outside the station. This footage is being closely analysed to identify the perpetrators.
In response, security has been tightened at all rural police stations in Amritsar. A checkpoint was set up at Kathunangal Toll Plaza, where bomb squad teams conducted a thorough inspection of the area.
Last year, Ajnala police station made headlines during a standoff involving Amritpal Singh and his supporters, who attempted to take over the station. This latest incident has raised concerns about the station’s security and its vulnerability to such attacks.
