The Enforcement Directorate’s High-Intensity Unit (HIU) has launched a series of extensive raids today targeting prominent chartered accountants allegedly involved in a massive cybercrime network operating all across India.

These operations were part of an ongoing investigation that uncovered the laundering of illicit funds generated from various cybercrimes, including phishing scams, QR code fraud, and part-time job scams.

The raids were aimed at cracking down on individuals allegedly facilitating the transfer of illegally obtained funds. According to sources, the network had been responsible for defrauding thousands of people across the country, and the authorities believe these chartered accountants played a crucial role in laundering the proceeds from these criminal activities.

During the operation in Delhi’s Bijwasan area, the Enforcement Directorate team faced an unexpected attack. Five individuals were present at the premises, and one managed to flee the scene.

Despite the attack, the ED team successfully secured the location, and an FIR has been filed in connection with the incident. Tragically, one Additional Director of the Enforcement Directorate sustained injuries during the raid.

This attack on an enforcement team is a rare but concerning event, underlining the risks faced by law enforcement officials during high-stakes operations. The Enforcement Directorate has confirmed that it will continue its investigation and seek justice for the victims of the cybercrimes.

The raids are a significant step in the ongoing effort to tackle cybercrime and the growing threat of money laundering in India. The Enforcement Directorate has vowed to take strict action against all those involved in such criminal activities.
