This aim was also reflected in the atmosphere as Cambridge International School (Co-Ed), Jalandhar, hosted its eagerly anticipated Annual Sports Meet on 14th December 2024 in school premises.
The event was held in two lively sessions including students of Grades I to III and Grades IV to V. This event served as a platform for the young students to showcase their sportsmanship, talent, and teamwork that will foster a sense of healthy competition.
The event was honored by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Mr. Mohinder Bhagat, Minister for Defence Services Welfare of Punjab. His inspiring words served as a source of motivation for all the young athletes. His words encouraged them to give their best and face challenges with courage.
The event was graced with the presence of a Special Guest, Ms Shashi Chopra who motivated the young players and blessed them for future.
The highlight of the day, the inauguration of the Little Gym, was a proud moment for the school as it became the first in the city to introduce such a unique facility.
The Little Gym aims to enhance motor skills, improve concentration, and foster a sense of discipline among students, supporting their holistic development.
The Sports Day celebrations were further elevated by a flag hoisting ceremony, the March Past, and the traditional lighting of the torch, which indicated the beginning of the sporting journey and the honoring of hard work.
The torchbearers have truly embodied the pride and glory of the school. As national and international athletes, they have brought immense honor to the institution through their exceptional achievements in renowned sports competencies.
The students showcased discipline and team spirit, pledging fairness and respect during the Oath-taking ceremony. The meet officially began with the release of vibrant balloons into the sky.
The meet featured a diverse range of performances and activities, showcasing the multifaceted talents of the students. The graceful and meditative yoga performances mesmerized the audience, while the captivating gymnastics display highlighted the students' agility and strength.
The crowd was left in awe as students glided gracefully during the skating performances and exhibited their skills in pyramid formations, reflecting impeccable coordination and balance.
The core of the event was the track races where students from Grade I to V competed in 60-meter races, 80-meter races, hurdle races, ball throw and relay races with full determination.
The excitement reached its peak as parents enthusiastically participated in Tug of War and Relay races, making it a memorable and heartwarming segment of the event.
The day was energized by a vibrant Bhangra performance, filling the arena with the lively beats. Victorious students were awarded medals and certificates, celebrating their hard work and sportsmanship. During the event, refreshments were provided to all students, parents and guests, ensuring that everyone felt included in the grand celebration.
To inspire, the school presented footballs to every student as a symbol of motivation, encouraging them to participate in physical activities and reduce their reliance on gadgets.
The presence of honourable Chairman Mr. Nitin Kohli, Vice Chairman Mr. Deepak Bhatia, Vice President Mr. Parth Bhatia, and Executive Director Mr. Dhruv Bhatia added grace and significance to the event.
They appreciated the boundless energy and commitment displayed by the students and emphasized the importance of sports in the holistic development of a child's personality.
President Ms. Pooja Bhatia commended the students, stating that sports foster essential life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
