A shocking incident of firing linked to an old financial rivalry unfolded in Ajnala’s bustling main bazaar on Wednesday. The attack targeted Amit Cloth House, leaving two brothers injured in the wake of violence.
Rajinder Kumar, a co-owner of the shop, revealed that he and his brothers, Vijay Kumar and Sunil Kumar, have been managing the family business for years. According to Rajender, the dispute was believed to have been resolved two months ago. However, on this fateful day, the simmering tensions resurfaced violently as some individuals attacked the shop and opened fire.
The firing left Vijay Kumar and Sunil Kumar injured, with Vijay sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg. The family is now seeking justice for the brazen attack. “We are three brothers running a clothing business. Sur t a financial dispute, some individuals came and opened fire. My brothers Vijay and Sunil are injured. We seek justice,” Rajinder Kumar stated, visibly shaken by the ordeal.
DSP Gurinder Singh, overseeing the case, found that the firing stemmed from a financial dispute. He assured that a thorough investigation is underway. “An incident of firing due to an old rivalry has occurred in Ajnala's main bazaar. Vijay Kumar sustained a gunshot injury in his leg. Statements are being recorded, and necessary action will be taken.” said DSP Singh.
The police are currently investigating the case, with statements from witnesses and family members being collected to identify the attackers and ensure justice. The incident has left the local community in shock, highlighting the need for swift action to address such violent disputes.
