Commissionerate Police arrests two with illegal weapons, CP reiterates commitment to maintain law and order in city

Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has arrested two persons with illegal weapons in the city. 

Divulging more details, the Commissioner of Police said that Udham Singh s/o Jaspal Singh r/o HNo 72, Kalia Colony, near Gauri Shankar Mandir, Jalandhar had complained that he has went to Sabji Mandi Maqsudan to eat some snacks. He said that at the food stall, Udham Singh had a fight with Karthik and Mohit Malhotra, who attacked him with their illegal weapons, in which one shot was fired on the back of Udham Singh's right hand. Mr Swapan Sharma said that Taking action against the accused, FIR No. 127 dated 01.09.2024 u/s 109, 3(5) BNS, and 25-54-59 Arms Act, Police Station Division No. 1, Jalandhar, was registered. 

The Commissioner of Police said that during the investigation, the Police identified accused as Kartik s/o Suresh Kumar r/o HNo 311/21 Village Nagra Jalandhar and Mohit Malhotra @ Kaka s/o Vijay Kumar r/o HNo 70 Amar Nagar Gulab Devi Road Jalandhar. Mr Swapan Sharma said that swinging into action the Police arrested both the accused from the road leading from Suranasi to Amanatpur. Mr Swapan Sharma said that Police also recovered weapons used in the incident, including two illegal pistols of 32 bore and two live rounds. 

The Commissioner of Police said that one case is already pending against Kartik and three cases are pending against Mohit. He said that further investigation into the case is going on and details, if any, will be shared later. Mr Swapan Sharma reiterated the firm commitment of the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police to maintain law and order in the city.
