In a disturbing incident, Jalandhar's immigration firm RS Global's owner was recently arrested for allegedly raping a 24-year-old girl in a hotel on the pretext of sending her to Singapore. In this regard, Navi Baradari Police Station has registered an FIR of rape against the accused RS Global's owner Sukhchain Singh Rahi. The victim has been medically examined. Notably, the girl attempted suicide after being raped allegedly by the RS Global firm owner. Police have also recovered a suicide note in the case.
In her suicide note, the victim has written the name of Sukhchain Singh Rahi and the name of his company. The police, on the complaint of the victim, arrested Sukhchain Singh under Section 64 of the BNS at Navi Baradari police station. As per the FIR filed, the victim wanted to move to Singapore or some European country on a work visa and was searching for immigration companies dealing in work visas, when she came across a video of Sukhchain Singh on Youtube. She dialed the number given on the YouTube video and visited the office on August 20 to enquire about the Singapore work visa.
After speaking with a company employee, she was asked to visit the office on August 21 where she met Sukhchain Singh Rahi, the owner of RS Global. Rahi informed the victim that it would cost Rs 5.75 lakhs to get a work visa for Singapore. After the meeting, the victim sent all her documents to the accused's number. After which, on the pretext of a seminar, the girl was called to Hotel Prime Regalia on August 31. On August 31, the girl was taken to a room on the second floor.
The victim in her suicide note stated, "She drank a cold drink in the room, after which she does not remember what happened to her. But she is sure that 'bad things' happened to me twice. After which I was left at the PG."
In her FIR, the victim says that when she entered the hotel room she found it empty. Within 5-10 minutes, Sukhchain arrived and assured her that other students would be joining shortly, and offered her a soft drink. The victim said she lost consciousness after consuming a cold drink, only to later realise that she had been sexually assaulted.
Unable to bear what happened to her, the victim consumed phenyl tablets and revealed everything to the owner of Schooling Visa Consultancy, where she worked. Her boss immediately rushed to her room and took her to PIMS Hospital and, in the meantime, he alerted the police about the incident.
Her suicide note says, "(Translated) Now I feel that I am not able to show my face to anyone. Due to this, I do not want to live this life anymore. Only Raahi will be responsible for my death. I request that Raahi should be given the harshest punishment. So that this does not happen to any other girl."
As last updated, the girl had undergone a medical examination at the Civil Hospital and further investigation in the case was underway.
