In a major breakthrough, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has busted a gang involved in incidents of snatching and robbery by arresting three criminals, including two juveniles, involved in it.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police said that during patrolling near village Pholriwal a Police party received a tip off that some people involved in snatching and robbery incidents are roaming in the area. He said that the informant had revealed that the criminals were planning to conduct a major crime near the south city. Mr Swapan Sharma said that based on the input the Police arrested three criminals planning for the crime.
The commissioner of Police said that the trio has been identified as X r/o Quarter of Kaku, Mithapur Colony Jalandhar, Y r/o HNo. 81 Mohalla Eidgah Dayanand Chowk Garha Jalandhar and Saurav @ Sonu s/o Ram r/o On Rent House of Rana Village Alipur Jalandhar. Subsequently, he said that the criminals were arrested with two motorcycles, five mobile phones, one Datar and one khanda. Mr Swapan Sharma said that a Fir No. 196 dated 08.09.2024 u/s 304(2) later added section 317(2), 3(5) BNS, has been registered at Police Station Sadar Jalandhar.
The Commissioner of Police said that no criminal background of the criminals have been traced so far. He said that further investigations into the case is going and details if any will be shared later. Mr Swapan Sharma said that the Commissionerate Police has adopted zero tolerance policy against the crime and criminals to ensure safety and security of city residents.
