In a major development, the Counter-Intelligence Jalandhar unit of Punjab Police has successfully foiled a major terror conspiracy plotted by Pakistan-based and pro-Khalistan terrorist outfits to destabilize the state. A total of 13 terrorists linked to two terrorist modules have been arrested, and a substantial cache of weapons and explosives has been recovered. AIG, Counter-Intelligence (CI), Jalandhar Navjot Singh Mahal spearheaded the operation.
As per the Police, the dismantled modules were associated with Babbar Khalsa International and Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Rinda. Among the seized items were rocket launchers, explosive materials, pistols, cartridges, and detonators.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav revealed that the operation was spearheaded by AIG Navjot Mahal and his team from Counter-Intelligence Jalandhar. The first module, allegedly operated by Satnam Singh alias Satta, a Hoshiarpur native now based in France, was actively planning major attacks in Punjab. Those arrested from Satta’s group include Jatinder Hani, Jagjit alias Jagga (from Kapurthala), Harpreet, and Jagroop (both from Hoshiarpur).
The second module was led by Jaswinder alias Mannu of Gurdaspur and was being directed by him from Greece. Jaswinder reportedly had connections with Harvinder Rinda and Pakistan’s secret service ISI. Police arrested 9 individuals linked to Jaswinder’s group, including a minor. DGP Yadav confirmed that both modules were working toward a common goal—to spread terror and carry out large-scale violence in Punjab.
