Great Britain's King Charles and Queen Camilla visited an Indian restaurant in London a few days back. The British Monarch King Charles and Queen Camilla were seen helping the staff of the Indian restaurant Darjeeling Express in London's Soho with packing dates and biryani. King Charles' visit to Darjeeling Express comes in the backdrop of Ramadan 2025. Multiple videos and pictures have gone viral on social media. In fact, Darjeeling Express's Instagram handle also shared King Charles' Biryani Video and King Charles Dates Video. Now, the question who is the owner of Indian Resutaurant Darjeeling Express? Who owns Darjeeling Express in London?

Darjeeling Express is owned by British-Indian chef Asma Khan. Based in London, UK, Asma Khan is a famous Chef and author. Asma Khan's LinkedIn bio says that she is the Founder of a Michelin guide-nominated restaurant. Director of Second Daughters- A charity aimed at empowering women and girls in the South Asian subcontinent to pursue an education. 

Asma Khan's bio further explains that she left a career in constitutional law in 2012 and decided to pursue her passion, which was cooking. "Today my restaurant, Darjeeling Express and it’s revolutionary all-female kitchen serves over 1000 people a week in the bustling heart of Soho," reads Asma's social media profile. 

Reports further suggest that Asma was born in Kolkata, and her parents come from royal families. Asma Khan's father reportedly is a Rajput from western Uttar Pradesh, and her mother is Bengali from West Bengal. She moved to Cambridge in 1991 and then moved to London.

Asma Khan did Bachelor of Law from King's College London from 1996 to 1999. Thereafter, she did a Ph.D in Law from King's College London from 2001 to 2011. She has also been a chief advocate of UN's World Food Programme. 

Coming back to King Charles visit to Darjeeling Express, a video was shared by the Royal Family with the caption, "Packing dates at Darjeeling Express! Traditionally, dates are eaten as the first food to break the fast at sunset during Ramadan. Their Majesties helped pack dates that will be sent to local hospitals for Iftaar during the holy month."
