US deportation effect has started to be seen in India as three travel agents of Jalandhar-Karnal were booked recently. As per reports, an FIR has been filed against 3 travel agents of Jalandhar-Karnal in Haryana on the complaint of 2 youths who were sent to the US via Donkey route or 'Dunki' route. The complainants are Akash and Sumit of Karnal. Fraud and Immigration Act have been imposed on the travel agents. Akash and Sumit are among those 33 people from Haryana who were deported to Amritsar airport from America on 5 February in a US Air Force plane with their hands and feet tied in chains.
In the investigation, the police found out that the agents had cheated these 33 people of about Rs 15 crore. The agents had lured the people with a job offer in America. However, almost all of them were arrested as soon as they crossed the wall from the Mexican border and reached the US.
'Travel agent Rocky of Jalandhar had taken the money'
Shubham of Kalaram village of Karnal said that his younger brother Akash had gone to Delhi for a trip, where he met a young man named Sandeep. Sandeep gave him the number of an agent, who introduced himself as Rocky from Jalandhar. The agent demanded Rs 42.50 lakh to send Akash to America.
Shubham said that he gave this amount in four installments. The first installment of 7.50 lakh was given near Bastara toll tax, the second 10 lakh under Kutel bridge, the third 20 lakh near Bastara bridge, and the fourth installment of 5 lakh was given at the village bus stand. As soon as Akash reached America on the night of 25 January, the police arrested him and put him in a camp on 26 January. He was sent to India on 5 February. It is pertinent to mention here that Akash's video travelling to the US via 'Dunki' route recently went viral. Akash was seen in the Panama Jungle.
Shubham filed an FIR against travel agent Rocky and his partner in Madhuban police station. After which a case has been registered under sections 406, 420 of IPC, and section 24 of the Immigration Act.
Jalandhar travel agent had taken Akash to America in 7 months
Akash said that he reached Delhi on 20 June 2024. He was stopped here for a month. Then he was sent to Mumbai, where he was kept for 2 months. From Mumbai, he went to Brazil by flight, where he had to stay for a month. After this he reached Bolivia. This was a very expensive country, so he was kept here only for 5-6 days.
Then he went to Guatemala, where he took a month. After that, he had to pass through the jungles of Panama, which took 7 days. After Panama, he reached Honduras, where he stayed for 15 days. Then he had to stay in South America for 10 days. Finally, he reached Mexico, where he was stopped for about 35 days. On 25 January 2025, at 12 midnight, he crossed the US border where he was arrested the same day and kept in a detention center.
