As per reports, a few years ago Radha Soami Satsang Beas head Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon was diagnosed with cancer and underwent treatment for this as well.

In a major development, Dera Beas Mukhi Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon of Dera Radha Soami located in Beas, Amritsar, Punjab has chosen his successor. As per reports, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon has made Jasdeep Singh Gill his successor. A person's mother in the Sewa team of Radha Soami Satsang Beas has been informed that Jasdeep Singh Gill will be Dera Beas Mukhi Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon's deputy, not the head as earlier suggested by the media.  Also, Dera Beas Mukhi Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon's health is fine and therefore 'he will continue to be the Master- Guru of Radha Soami Beas faith, and the successor (designate Maharaj) Jasdeep Singh Gill ji will be his deputy and sit with Him and be under the tutelage of Baba ji'. 

Earlier, it was reported that Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon reportedly chose his successor amid health concerns. Reports suggested that a few years ago Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon was diagnosed with cancer. He underwent long treatment for the same. Baba Gurinder Dhillon is also suffering from heart disease. However, Dera Beas in their statement to the Sewa Team has clarified that Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon's health is fine.

For the unversed, Dera Beas has a lot of influence. Many big leaders including PM Narendra Modi have come here.

Notably, the announcement of Jasdeep Singh Gill's appointment was done via a letter sent to all Sevadar-Incharges. In the letter, it was said that Pujya Sant Satguru and patron of Radha Soami Satsang Beas, Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon has nominated Jasdeep Singh Gill, son of Sukhdev Singh Gill, as the patron of Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society. He will replace him as the patron with immediate effect from 02 September 2024.

Jasdeep Singh Gill will replace Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon as the Sant Satguru of Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society and will have the right to give Nam Diksha.

Baba Gurinder Dhillon said that just as he has received full support and love from the Sangat after Huzur Maharaj Ji. In the same way, he has also wished and requested that Jasdeep Singh Gill should also be given the same love and affection in serving him as patron and Sant Satguru.

For the unversed, Radha Soami Satsang Beas Dera was established in 1891. Its objective is to give the religious message to the people. This organization is spread across 90 countries of the world, including the USA, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Africa, and many other countries. The Dera has more than 4 thousand acres of land. In which there is a langar hall of about 48 acres.

There are inns, guest hostels, and sheds for the devotees to stay in the camp. 3 hospitals have also been built in the camp for free treatment of people. Free treatment facilities have been provided for the people living within a radius of 35 kilometers from the camp.

MLA & Supreme Court lawyer Somnath Bharti shared the letter on his official X handle and wrote, "Just learned that present spiritual head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas His Holiness Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon Ji has appointed His Holiness Baba Jasdeep Singh Gill Ji as his successor in all aspects including the authority of giving Initiation (Naamdan). I have been associated with the lineage of Masters in Beas since my childhood because my father, after a long spiritual journey, was blessed by Huzur Maharaj Charan Singh Ji ie predecessor of present master Baba Gurinder Singh Ji as his Spiritual Guide in 1965, much before my birth. Surat-Shabd-Yog (of Swami Ji Maharaj of Agra) is the path taught by the Spiritual Masters at Beas as the path to achieve the ultimate purpose of human life."
