Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu has recently got diagnosed with pneumonia and Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). She has got two clots in her calf due to which the actress is facing problems while walking. Earlier, she got diagnosed with pneumonia following which the reports about the clots in her leg were out.
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein. These clots usually get formed in the legs or pelvis. It can occur in the arms or other veins as well.
Symptoms of DVT include pain in the affected leg or arm, swelling in the foot, ankle, or leg, usually on one side, cramping pain in the affected leg, skin turning pale, reddish, or bluish, depending on skin tone, a bad headache, seizures and bad belly pain if blood clots are in the abdomen.
Saira Banu is an 80-year-old Indian actress. She has majorly worked in Hindi films. She is considered as one of the finest actors of Indian cinema. She had starred in films like Padosan, Victoria No. 203, Aadmi Aur Insaan and Resham Ki Dori. She has received a total of four Filmfare Awards nominations throughout her acting career.
Saira had married Dilip Kumar in 1966. The couple did not have any children. In his autobiography, Dilip Kumar: The Substance and the Shadow, he had revealed that Banu had conceived in 1972, but developed complications in the pregnancy which unfortunately led to a miscarriage. Following this, they did not try to have children again. Dilip passed away on 7th July 2021 at the age of 98 years.
