Punjabi singer & actor Diljit Dosanjh concluded his Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024 in Ludhiana on New Year's Eve i.e. on December 31, 2024. It was a night to remember for all Punjabis as a sea of fans attended Diljit's concert at PAU Ground. It is said that 40 to 50 thousand fans attended Diljit's Ludhiana concert. While Diljit's Ludhiana concert is done and dusted, the players who used to practice at the stadium are still facing problems due to the damages that were caused at the venue.
District Sports Officer and Athletic Coach of Ludhiana state that due to the damage of the warm-up track in Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana, players are facing a lot of problems in practicing. He said that the warm-up track along with the main track is where players often practice before running on the track.
Before Daljit Dosanjh's show, his team had set up their tents and sold tickets, due to which a lot of damage was caused. He said that not only this, they had also set fire to the track. The District Sports Officer said that a part of the track had been damaged. He said that we have shared information with the Deputy Commissioner in this regard and he has said that steps will be taken soon in this regard and it will be repaired. The track from 2001 is still there at the venue.
Although new tracks had been laid in Guru Nanak Stadium before this, the warm-up track had not been changed. District Athletic Coach of Ludhiana Sanjeev Kumar said that the way the fire was set, there was a special chemical in this track. He said that if this track had not been old, then the entire track could have caught fire.
It is pertinent to mention here that the show was organized in PAU but the tickets for Diljit Dosanjh's show were distributed in the multipurpose hall of Guru Nanak Stadium. A parking facility was also provided at 18 places in the city for Diljit Dosanjh's program. VIP parking was made in the Smart School ground inside PAU. But due to the entry of vehicles into the playground, the ground got completely damaged. Due to this players practicing handball are also facing problems.
