With New Year 2025 knocking on the doors, Punjabis are all braced up witness the biggest event of the year in Ludhiana. The people of Punjab will welcome the New Year 2025 along with none other than Punjabi singer & actor Diljit Dosanjh on December 31, 2024. Diljit will be performing at the PAU Football Ground in Ludhiana on New Year's Eve. In the meanwhile, reports on Monday even went viral that Diljit Dosanjh;s Ludhiana Concert has been cancelled. Multiple portals reported that all the New Year Eve's celebrations have been called off by the administration.
Talking exclusively to True Scoop, Ludhiana DC Jitendra Jorwal debunked the ongoing reports and clarified that the Punjabi singer's concert will take place according to the schedule. The misinformation started spreading in the backdrop that all New Year's Eve programs had been cancelled by the DC. However, that is not the case as clarified by DC Jorwal. It was reported that the DC has instructed all the club secretaries that there will be no program for New Year in the clubs on December 31st.
Ludhiana DC reviews security ahead of Diljit Dosanjh's concert
Ahead of Diljit's Ludhiana Concert, DC Jitendra Jorwal shared that 3500 Police personnel will be deployed in and outside the event. Keeping New Year's Eve in mind, multiple mobile teams have also been formed. Not only this, but 750 private security guards will also be deployed at the concert venue. DC further informed that the administration is expecting 40,000 to 45,000 fans to attend the event.
Addressing the media, Ludhiana DC Jitendra Jorwal said, "This is a private show being organised by event organisers. Our duty is to maintain law & order and arrangements as people from the entire Ludhiana are expected to come here. We have deployed 3500 Police personnel because many other events are also being organised in Ludhiana tomorrow by restaurants and hotels. Keeping these things in mind, we have also formed mobile teams. Basic health facilities and designated places for dumping waste are also being set up. Adequate number of health officials, adequate number of dustbins.
It will be the event organisers personal responsibility to follow the cleanliness guidelines as per solid waste management rules. They have to send the waste materials to the corporation's dumping sites. Washrooms for males and females have been set up at designated places. Apart from PAU, other spots have been identified for parking. We would like to appeal to the concertgoers to attend the show responsibly and be happy & safe."
