Ekadashi 2024 list: In Hindhuism, Ekadashi fasts are observed every year in lieu of worshipping Lord Vishnu. In Vaishnavism, Lord Vishnu is believed to be the supreme manifestation of the divine and believed to bestow blessings and protect the devotees from suffering and any maloccurrence. Fasts are observed twice in a month, once of Krishna Paksha and second on Shukla Paksha. Observing Ekadashi Fast:

Ekadashi fast is believed to be penance in order to earn favour from Lord Vishnu. It is essential to be performed with pure devotion in order to appease the divine and the holy.

It is observed over 3 days. Devotees eat a meal at noon a day before the fast, observing a strict fast on the day of Ekadashi and only breaking fast at sunrise the next day.
