The campaign for Jalandhar West Bye Elections 2024 is at its peak and the BJP & AAP are engaged in a continuous war of words. While BJP has fielded Sheetal Angural for Jalandhar West Bye Polls, AAP has backed Mohinder Bhagat. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann is giving his total attention to Jalandhar West Bye Polls and monitoring the campaign himself. The importance of the Jalandhar West constituency for Mann can be understood by the fact that he shifted to Jalandhar in a rented house to see the overall election preparation. Not only this, Mann even promised to continue to stay in Jalandhar at least two days every week even after Jalandhar West Bye Polls. Amid this masterstroke, Sheetal Angural courted controversy during one of his Facebook Live when he alleged that Raman Arora had sought money in the name of CM’s family, specifically his wife and sister.
In response, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann challenged Angural to table evidence against AAP leaders "right now instead of July 5". As a result, Angural arrived at Babu Jagjivan Ram Chowk and even called the media by putting up two chairs — one for the CM and the second for Angural — with a banner in the backdrop saying "truth will prevail over lies today". During the event, Sheeytal Angural kept on waving a pen drive suggesting it contained proof against AAP leaders.
However, when the time passed by and the media queried what was in the pen drive, Angural reportedly said, "I will share this with the CM first and then with you." This indeed hinted something fishy in Sheetal Angural's claim as the perfect place to table any kind of proof was in front of the media which he refused to do.
The event turned even more dramatic when Seetal Angural became emotional and alleged that he got a call from a Pakistan number threatening to kill his daughter and son. On the pend drive, Angural said, "The CM should order a probe by a senior official. If the evidence is false, you may act against me too."
As per the information received, Sheetal Angural is yet to send the pen drive or any kind of proof that links corruption or extortion racket prevailing among some AAP leaders. If Angural fails to do so, it will indeed turn out to be a major embarrassment for the BJP especially ahead of Jalandhar West Bye Polls 2024.
