Nepal Earthquake Today: In a worrisome development, strong earthquake tremors were felt in three countries including Nepal on Tuesday morning. The intensity of 'earthquake today' was 7.1 in Nepal. Tremors were also felt in some parts of Bihar, Sikkim, and West Bengal in India. The intensity of the earthquake in Tibet was recorded at 6.8. The earth shook in Malda and Sikkim of North Bengal as well. Earthquakes occurred in areas like Motihari and Samastipur in Bihar around 6.40 am, which lasted for about five seconds. According to the information, at least 32 people are reported to have died in the powerful earthquake in Tibet region near the border of Nepal.

According to USGS, the intensity of the earthquake in Nepal was 7.1. There are seven tectonic plates inside the earth, which keep rotating continuously. When these plates collide with each other, the earth starts shaking, which is called an earthquake. It is measured on the Richter scale, which ranges from 1 to 9. While Nepal Earthquake Today has become a serious issue, multiple videos are also going viral on X.

Truth Behind Nepal Earthquake Video

The video shared by the social media user on X with the claims that it is the latest footage is totally fake and misleading. Although the video is from Nepal, the footage is from 2015. Hence, the Nepal Earthquake Video going viral on X is old. 

Nepal is located in a geologically active region, where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates collide, forming the Himalayas and making earthquakes a frequent occurrence. In 2015, nearly 9,000 people died and more than 22,000 were injured when a 7.8-magnitude quake struck Nepal, destroying more than half a million homes.
