While the T20 World Cup 2024 is going on in the US and West Indies, the India vs Pakistan match remains the most talked about game in almost every cricketing nation. Team India on June 9 defeated Pakistan in New York by a small margin of 6 runs. Courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah's three wickets and Rishabh Pant's crucial contribution with the bat, Pakistan could chase a small target of 120 runs. After the defeat from India, Pakistan is now left with an outside chance to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8. In the meantime, a video went viral on social media with the claims that a Pakistani fan tried to set himself on fire after the country's defeat to India. Notably, India and Pakistan are arch rivals and hence fans of both countries want to defeat each other. However, the Men In Blue has always enjoyed success over the Men In Green on the cricket field in ICC tournaments.
A video was shared with the caption, "A Pakitani Cricket Fan tried to Burnn Himself after Pakistan Loses to team India"
A Pakistani page shared the video, "Team India just failed us in NYC. I can't! #PakvsInd"
In the video, a man in a white t-shirt can be seen pouring something on his body. Seeing this, the man's mother rushes towards him to stop him from lighting the match stick. In the background, cries can be heard and a child can heard saying, "Na Chachu na (no uncle no)."
However, the claims that a Pakistani fan tried to burn himself after the team's loss in the World Cup is not correct. The video that is going viral belongs to a social media influencer & YouTuber named Suneel. Suneel was playing a prank on his family and acting like he was going to burn himself. The same video was posted on X with the claims that the person is a Pakistani fan and he tried to burn himself.
On June 9, 2024, Team India locked horns with Pakistan in the New York Stadium and defeated the arch-rivals by just 6 runs. Courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah's fiery spell, Team India snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and defended the low score of 120 runs.
