Farmers Protest Railway Chakka Jam, Farmers Punjab Train Chakka Jam: The ongoing farmers protest 2.0 will be intensified on October 3, 2024 as the protestors will carry out a 'Chakka Jam' of trains meaning stoppage of trains for at least 2 hours in Punjab and Haryana. Farmers Railway Chakka Jam has been called today amid the ongoing farmers' struggle since February over issues including legal guarantee of MSP on crops. Farmers will sit on railway tracks from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Protesting farmers plan to stop trains at 35 places in 22 districts of Punjab and one place in Haryana.

The railways chakka jam will be held under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan. In such a situation, people traveling by train may face problems. Chandigarh, Ambala, Amritsar, and Jammu routes will be affected during the time of the protest. As per reports, keeping the protest in mind, Firozpur and Ambala Division formally announced the cancellation and short termination of trains due to the 2-hour shutdown.

Trains will also be stopped near Shambhu Border

Farmers will also hold a Rail Roko movement at the Shambhu Border. Through this movement, the farmers are demanding justice from the government in the case of the killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, the MSP guarantee law on crops, and loan waiver for farmers and laborers. Farmers say that their demands are absolutely justified.

This is the third time this year that farmers are going to block the railway track. Earlier, farmers had blocked the railway track for the first time on 15 February in Amritsar. Then on 16 April, the protest started on the Shambhu track, which lasted for about 34 days.

List of Railway Stations where trains will be stopped by protesting farmers

During this Rail Roko movement of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Sidhpur, the Morcha has imposed the duty of stopping trains at many places including Fatehgarh Railway Station, Fazilka Railway Station, Barnala Railway Station, Sangrur Railway Station, Mansa Railway Station, Moga Railway Station. The trains will be stopped at Maur, Rama Mandi, Sangat, Goniana, Bahman Diwana and Lehra Mohabbat in Bathinda, Ferozepur Railway Station, Village Lall Kalan Railway Station, Qila Raipur, Faridkot Railway Station and Shri Amritsar Sahib Manawala Railway Station and Verka in Gurdaspur, Batala Railway Station in Patiala, Muktsar, and Faksar in Sri Muktsar Sahib, Phagwara in Jalandhar, Tarn Taran to Patti, Mohali to Shandu Railway Station from 12 noon to 2:30 pm.
