In a tragic development, over 27 people mostly women died on Tuesday in a stampede in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras. Hundreds of people attended the Bhole Baba Satsang dedicated to Lord Shiva in Ratibhanpur, Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, this accident happened due to a stampede. A total of 19 women are also included among the dead. Etah CMO Dr. Umesh Kumar Tripathi reportedly confirmed 27 dead bodies. The dead include 1 man, 23 women and 3 children.
The dead bodies of the deceased have been taken to Etah Medical College. Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Pratap Singh was quoted saying that this accident happened in Fullerai village of Sikandrarao police station area of Hathras district during Bhole Baba's Satsang. Etah SSP Rajesh Kumar Singh said that a religious event was going on in Mughalgarhi village of Hathras district, when a stampede broke out. So far 27 bodies have arrived at Etah Hospital, including 23 women, 3 children, and 1 man. Further investigation is being done. These 27 bodies are being identified.
The stampede happened after the completion of the Satsang. Notably, multiple chilling videos and pictures have surfaced on social media linked to Hathras Stampede. Multiple dead bodies can be seen loaded on auto and trucks are being carried to hospital. One of the videos also showcased multiple women lying on the ground lifeless.
