Hockey India League Auction 2024, Hockey India League Auction Punjab Players: The Hockey India League auction 2024 started with a bang on Sunday with franchises not shying away from spending their money to bid for their desired hockey players. The first day of the Hockey India League Auction featured only the men's player auction, with the Indian national team in the fray attracting big bids. Notably, 10 out of 16 Indian Hockey Team players at the Paris Olympics 2024 were from Punjab. Hence, it was expected that franchises would bid big in the auction on Punjab players. Below is a list of Punjab players and in how much they were bought by the franchises.

1) Harmanpreet Singh- Rs 78 lakh as Defender in Soorma Hockey Club (Harmanpreet also became the most expensive player in the HIL while writing). 

2) Hardik Singh- Rs 70 lakh as Midfielder for UP Rudras

3) Manpreet Singh- Rs 42 lakhs as Midfielder for Team Gonasika

4) Jarmanpreet Singh- Rs 38 lakh as Defender for Delhi SG Pipers

5) Mandeep Singh- Rs 25 lakh as Forward for Team Gonasika

6) Shamsher Singh- Rs 42 lakh as Midfielder for Delhi SG Pipers

7) Jugraj Singh- Rs 48 lakh as Defender for Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers

8) Gurjant Singh- Rs 19 lakh as Forward for Soorma Hockey Club

Hockey India League 2024

The Hockey India League is making a comeback after seven years from December. The auction of players started on Sunday. On October 13 and 14, eight men's teams bid for players. At the same time, the auction of players for 6 women's teams will be held on October 15. One thousand players will be up for grabs in the auction. Among men, 400 domestic and 150 foreign players will be auctioned. At the same time, among women, 250 domestic and 70 foreign players will participate in the auction. Players have been divided into three categories. The base price of 600 players is 2 lakhs. At the same time, 250 players are included in the 5 lakh category and the same number of players are included in the 10 lakh category.
