The city of Ahmedabad will be stormed by enthusiastic Cricket fans from all over the country as the World Cup Finals is scheduled to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium this Sunday. With 1,30,000 spectators expected to attend the event, hotel and flight bookings are reportedly bombarded with a massive influx of enthusiastic fans ready to cheer for their favorite team to win.
So much is the traffic that the average rent of the top 5-3 star hotels reached the lofty sum of more than Rs 3 lakh.
According to the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant, fans from Australia, Dubai, and South Africa are expected to stay at the hotels. There are 5,000 rooms of 3-5 star hotels available in the city and 10,000 rooms in Gujarat. More than 30,000 fans are expected to be visiting to witness the historic match.
Prime Minister Modi will be spectating the match with 8 CMs along with a hundred VVIPs
• All 291 rooms of the ITC Narmada Hotel are booked. Nearby hotels are priced at over 7 times the normal rate.
• Flight rates are 3-5 times more expensive than normal with Chetri-Ahmedabad priced at 25,000/- and Delhi-Mumbai priced at 35,000-50,000/-
• Mumbai Railway will be running a Special Train for the match.
• The Prime Minister, Home-Minister, 8 CMs, Reserve Bank Governor along with 100 VVIP are expected to appear
