Indians studying abroad is not a new thing. Indians have become CEOs and Founders of multiple companies around the world. Students shift to different countries and go on to make their dream lifestyle. However, countries now have started to put a cap on foreign students and this includes Australia. Australia has become a hot favorite destination in recent years for foreign students, especially for Indians. However, with the capping system, getting an Australian Visa for foreign students will be difficult for foreign students. Now, Sukant Nain Trivedi, Trivedi Overseas, recently talked about the surge in demand for Australian visas among Indian students, the reason behind it, and how Indian students can better their chances to study in Australia. Below is an excerpt-

"In today's time, Australia has become one of the most sought destinations for students mulling to study abroad. For the past few years, Canada has been the top destination. Everyone wanted to go to Canada. But with time and economic boom, excellent research facilities, job opportunities, and a stable economy have skyrocketed Australia's demand.

Every second student who visits immigration center offices is asking the firm to send them to Australia. But, Australia has its limitations.

They accept a fixed number of students from abroad every year. In that fixed number, Australia sees students' qualities, academic record must be good, and record of English should also be good. For English records, you can take IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL but the most important is financial.

Australia thoroughly investigates your family as well as your income. Here, mafias come in and assure that they will make every document ready and send you to Australia by taking X amount of money.

You have to be cautious of such individuals. You all have to understand that today everything is online now and everything is linked to Aadhar Card. Your every document can be verified very easily. Universities can verify your documents without letting you know is not a herculean task. So, don't fall victim to such frauds.

What does Australia see?

Australia checks your family's tax returns for the last three years. If you are a working individual, your salary must come in a bank account. There must be a minimum income of Rs 12 to 14 lakh (including family). If your parents are in a job then their salary must come in their bank account. Year-wise Bank statements are needed as proof that salary is coming in the bank account. An employer letter is also needed. Entire documents of employers will also be given. Form number 16 will be used in which identity card, and salary slip will be attached to it.

For business family

If your family has a business background, you will need business proof, registration, GST number, Current Account statement of 1 year. If you have a property and you get rent on it, then it must come in your bank account. Cash won't be counted. If you own a boutique, it must have a current account.

So, if you are planning to apply for an Australian visa, make sure you cover all these things-

  • Parents' income must be shown properly.
  • Rs 13 to 14 lakh minimum income
  • Rs 30 to 35 lakh (old money) bank balance of your account.
  • University checks bank statements of at least 1 year therefore, it won't count if you have added such an amount 6 months before from whatever source. For instance, transfers from Current Account, FD maturity amount, and property selling, won't be counted.

From January 2024, Australia has announced a capping system in which it will take only 2 lakh 75 thousand students from the world not from only India. Every university and college in Australia has been allotted a certain number. So, taking admission in Australia is going to be difficult in the coming years.

Australia is undoubtedly a very good destination, but if you are not fulfilling any of the categories, then don't get demotivated. Apply to other countries like Canada, Germany, UK, etc.
