Jalandhar Bandh and Ludhiana Bandh have been intensified in Punjab as protestors in large numbers are visiting shops, banks, and offices and shutting them down. In order to maintain law and order on Jalandhar Bandh Day, more than 2500 police forces have been deployed in the region. Jalandhar and Ludhiana Bandh have been called to protest against the vandalisation of Dr. BR Ambedkar's statue in Amritsar on Republic Day 2025. Protestors have blocked almost all roads in the city. In one of the areas, protestors used a huge crane to block the roads.
Ludhiana Bandh is also intensified as Delhi-Amritsar National Highway is totally shut down. As per information received on the ground, protestors are locking the bus stand in Ludhiana as well so that a complete shutdown takes place. As a result, Ludhiana and Jalandhar's traffic has been choked. Jalandhar Bandh and Ludhiana Bandh started at 9 am and it will conclude at 5 pm today.
Jalandhar's Commissioner of Police, Swapan Sharma also hit the ground and tried to resolve the issue by discussing with protestors. While giving information about the matter, Joint Commissioner Sandeep Sharma said that police forces have been deployed at all the intersections to maintain law and order during Jalandhar Bandh. During this time, about 2500 employees have been deployed so that the people coming and going do not have to face any problems.

- PAP National Highway
- Lamba Pind Chowk
- Pathankot Chowk
- Kapurthala Chowk
- Ravidas Chowk
- Gupta Mandi (Note: Most of the routes in Jalandhar are shut due to the Bandh)
Routes that are still open for travellers from Ludhiana going to Amritsar
- As per information received from our on-ground reporters, the Police have created a diversion in Phagwara. Therefore, you can opt for the diversion in Phagwara if you are going to Amritsar.
- Another diversion is in Dhanowali Faatak i.e. before PAP. You can reach Jalandhar from this diverted route and go beyond crossing through villages.
