Punjab government on Monday announced summer vacation in all government as well as private schools. As per orders, all schools of the state will remain closed from 21st may 2024 to 30th June 2024. This order came after rising temperatures and heatwave alert in Northern India. Government also stated that all these orders should be strictly followed otherwise strict action will be taken.
A school from Jalandhar called Bliss Public School was served with notice by the government for violating their orders. As per the information, despite government announced holiday in schools across the state, it was opened and both children as well as teachers were attending the school. As soon as the Jalandhar District Education Department came to know about violation of order, they took action and issued a notice to the school and asked it to appear in person by 2 pm today and be ready with a reply for the same. C.M. himself Mann tweeted and announced holidays in all government and private schools, but despite this, some private schools are opening its premises and violating of government orders.
Earlier, the government changed timing for all schools i.e. from 7 am to 12 pm due to the changing weather. However, seeing the rising temperature and after IMD issued an orange alert in the state the government decided to announce summer vacation all across the state.
