In a major operation spanning over two weeks, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has busted an interstate cartel involved in trade of weapon.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police said that during two week long operation the Police has nabbed 17 dreaded criminals involved in heinous crimes. These include criminals like Kannu Gujjar, a notorious gangster and close associate of Jaggu Bhagwanpuriya and others. More than 38 criminal cases have been registered against the arrested these criminals who were posing serious danger to the society.
The Commissioner of Police said that the Police has recovered a huge cache of drugs and weapons from these hardcore criminals. He said that the recovery includes 18 Weapons, 66 cartridges and 1.1 kg of heroin adding that it was result of concerted efforts of the Commissionerate Police. Mr Swapan Sharma said that the single point agenda is to break the backbone of the criminals and anti-social elements.
The Commissioner of Police said that the campaign to nail down criminals has been further intensified and the result will be visible soon. He said that no stone is being left unturned to put the hardcore criminals behind the bars and to ensure exemplary punishment to them. Mr Swapan Sharma said that further crackdown against the crime especially against organised crime through effective and responsive policing.
